One of them is Patino, a 69-year-old former midfielder who played for Sevilla from 1980 to 1984. Who also criticized Vinicius for provoking the opposing fans.
‘I criticise Vinicius a lot. He is a player who came from Flamengo. He came here and people gave him all the support in the world, but it started with racism. I have been here [in Spain] for 44 years and I have never experienced racism. But what happened was he provoked. He looked a bit like a clown. What he has to do is dedicate himself to football,’ Patino said.
Vinicius Junior was the target of racist remarks during the Madrid derby. When the Real Madrid attacker was bombarded with several racial slurs against Atletico Madrid, which caused the league body to issue a statement.
