Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has no regrets about turning down a move to Liverpool. And insists he was right to stay at the club he fostered.

Zubimendi was approached by the Reds in the previous transfer window. But opted to stay at Sociedad, who have enjoyed a disappointing start to the season, winning just two of their first eight games and sinking them to 14th in La Liga.
A poor start to the season has sparked speculation that the 25-year-old Spain international regrets turning down a move to Liverpool and is now waiting for another offer in the January transfer window.
Sociedad are set to host Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday. And Zubimendi was asked by the press if he regrets turning down a move to Anfield.
“Of course I have no regrets. I cannot think like that after four or five games in the season,” the Euro 2024 winner said.
“I made my decision because I thought it was the best choice and the results have not changed my mind. And I see the potential of this team. ยูฟ่าเบท You just have to see our training. I’m excited about having a good season.
“Every transfer market has things happening and this summer it’s my turn. The important thing is that you deal with it in the best way. “
It’s true that I felt uncomfortable with things, especially the noise. But in the end I isolated myself and made the decision that I thought was right.”
Manchester City, another giant in the English league, recently lost Rodri to a long-term injury and were linked with Zubimendi as a replacement in the winter market, but it seems that Sociedad do not have to worry.
“You can all count on the winter. My philosophy is to do everything according to my mind and the situation is good now,” concluded the player, whose contract runs until 2027 with a release clause of 60 million euros.
